NHIC Net Zero

Our carbon-neutral commitment

The NHIC has committed to being net-zero carbon before turning 50 in 2025. Clearly demonstrating climate leadership as the voice of home improvement.

As part of this commitment we are proud to confirm that this website is powered by 100% renewable energy. Additionally, the data centre hosting all our web assets is extremely energy efficient with a PUE of 1.12, and again this is utilises 100% renewable energy.

Our website is stored on servers that avoid contributing to climate change and has passed the Green Web Foundation‘s sustainability checks.

We’ve partnered with renewable energy suppliers to ensure that our web hosting, cooling and network is powered by 100% renewable energy.

But that’s not all we’re doing…

In 2023, we launched our manifesto for Home Improvement.

The NHIC manifesto is a catalyst for change.

It engages with the broader home improvement sector and drives a new impactful set of demands to deliver the three-way relationship we must implement to improve homes and the health and well-being of those in them.

Our manifesto sets out a straightforward, simple, achievable journey that all parties can engage with and work to deliver:

  • It builds and supports government direction and allows inputs into policy.
  • It engages with the industry sectors and looks at how we build and deliver
a sustainable professional future for businesses to thrive.
